Does anybody know of a thread on a different fourm or link online where someone has made a list of all the 17.5s and their specs for each motor?

Although that would cool it wouldnt be as helpful as you think. See theres no set way to measure a motors kv and it differs from company to company. Its not like a true 17.5t motor were you just count the turns of wire...therefor it varys from brand to brand. In a correct system a 2500kv 17.5 would indeed be faster than say a 1900kv but its just not always the case. The only way is just by track performance and thats just a bias opinion at that.

speed passion 17.5 comp3 = 2700kv
speed passion 17.5 ultra sprotsman = 2100kv
epic d3 17.5 = 2300kv
losi 17.5 sensored = 1820kv
tekin redline 17.5 = 2500kv
lrpvector x-12 17.5 = 2200kv
novak ballisic 17.5 = 2200kv
orion vortex 17.5 = 2280kv


These are some of the kv numbers i found last year.

The numbers are from the manufacturer sites so they may not be accurate but they are the published numbers as i found them.

So another question. Would a motors power in wattage not be helpful?

unless the manufacturer provides testing methods watts are meaningless.

keep in mind all 540 motors are pretty much the same weight and size, construction methods are all very similar so power levels will all be close for a given kv. If only we could be sure the rated kv was accurate
