Default Opinions on HV servos

Hey guys,

Looking at getting some new HV servos for TH and STR on a 1/8 buggy, previously I have had great luck with hitecs! But I'm open to anyones experience with these HV servos.

Futaba S9353HV
Hitec 7940TH
Savox SB 2271SG

If anyone has run these and had good experiences or bad I'd love to hear about it. Any premature failures??

Thanks guys.

I am stuck on the hitech 7955..although they are not rated for HV they take the volts with no issues and because they are not rated HV they draw much less power than any other HV servo on the market. I run 4 of these servos and have 1 for back up. with 2000 MAH lipos I have gotten 3 hours of runtime and there was still juice in the pack for the safe zone

I've got the Hitec 7955s in my X3 and often thought about running a lipo in there, but I'm not sure if a Spektrum RX will take a lipo without a regulator?

The spectrum receivers are rated for 9+ volts.

Cool.
I just found a box of 1000 mah lipos at home, never used which I am sure
will fit in my X3 receiver box.

Do you guys still run regulators on non hv servos? I messed up and forgot which servo is which so I am running them without regulators HV and non HV types. So far have no issues but I am afraid it might fail.

I would go the 7945 over the 7940 from Hitec, when i ran them i sent 3 7940's back for a 'broken ground' and on the third i asked for a 7945 and they sent it out no questions asked. Saying that, Hitec customer service is second to none.

I'm running Hitec 7950s for steering and 7940s for throttle in buggy and truggy. Zero issues in 2 years and I absolutely love them. Wasnt a Hitec fan before running these but I am now.

I have always been a big fan of Hitec servos, but I have been running the Savox 1267 and 1268 HV servos for some time now and I'm very satisfied. For the money you can't go wrong I think. My next set of servos will probably be the Savox brushless hv's.

+1 for Savox. I've got the 1267 and 1268 in my Buggy and have been loving them for almost a year or so now. I used to run a regulator and non-HV servos, but the regulators kept either dying on me or getting ripped off in a crash or whatever. Just one more part to break in a main really.

Since the upgrade...no more worries!

Wait for the new servos from A-Main. Hv, 800oz, .13ms, $60.00-$80.00 range i'm told.
