Best Lipos

Which lipos have the best bang for the price? When looking at 50-60c, 5000+ mah, I see a big difference in price ($70 - $120).

Nano Tech batteries are the best bang for the buck, IMHO. The Gens Ace batteries would be, but they are always out of stock... if you can catch them in stock, go with those because they offer free shipping on over $50 orders.

I have three Nano tech batteries and have two Gens Ace on the way. I have heard many, many great things about the Gens ace batteries.

hobby king has 6600 70c 2 cell 45.00 plus shipping and waiting and wondering when its going to get here. or you can get local... Pro match batteries has great 6000 60 c's for heavy trucks, are great batteries and are warrantied, local, and you can get em in two to three days. Jeff's great to work with and answers your questions if you need help. pro tec at a-main has good batteries. notro house.. gens ace 5000 50 C if there in stock and about 5 other hobby store brands. there all good. if you treat them right and don't puff them ..

I just had two brand new GensAce 4s 5000mah hard case packs go bad. Purchased 3/9/2012 and used 3 or 4 times each. The tab where the positive cable connection is soldered to the battery broke off. Exactly the same on both packs. I was able to easily remove the case to discover the problem. There's double sided tape on 3 sides of the pack to hold the case on...but they didn't peel back the film where it contacts the hard case! I should not have been able to pry the case off had they assembled it properly. (my two other GensAce hard cases won't budge) I think the cells are sliding back and forth inside the case ever so slightly causing the tabs to weaken and break.

I really like the GenAce batteries, except for this big manufacturing defect on the latest batch of packs.

I like my Turnigy nano-tech 65c's. Promatch is also a VERY good company in the US which stands by their products 100% They as well as others have trouble keeping stock due to quality products at reasonable prices, BUT you also get customer service, something you can kiss goodbye if you order from Hobbypartz or Hobbyking.

I would recommend spending a bit more cash on a high quality battery, I am a bit new to the electric rc's, been out of it for many years, and have some recent experience with different cars/batteries. I have had some Turnigy batteries and some went bad on me pretty quick. My latest purchaces have been some Venom 5800 70c, Orion 6500 90c, all 2s and a 4s Orion for my 1/8 scale. After some research I have done, I have found that Orion, Thunder Power, Reedy, and Venom make some good reliable batteries. Sure you may get a good price on other brands, but usually they have lower C ratings, and they may not last nearly as long as the above mentioned brands. I noticed a huge difference on some of these batteries in mine and friends cars, and from what I hear, if you really drive hard and push thing to the limit, a lower c rating can damage your electronics. Hope this helps. Check out A-Main hobbies, they seem to have good prices. I have learned to just buy high qualiy products from the start instead of cheaper stuff that eventually doesn't last and is a waste of money in the long run....

Buying a name brand battery as camncars mentions, while a little more money also usually buys you some sort of warranty and service after the fact.

Any of the companies mentioned in his post have email and phone support, as well as USA service departments should you need to send a pack in.
