ESC/Battery help needed

I bought a RedCatRacing BackDraft 8E a few months ago. After breaking and fixing it a few times, i'm starting to look for small upgrades.

Currently i'm running a EZRUN 80A ESC rated 80A-270A(Burst)

I've been reading random forums trying to pick up information, but i'm still having troubles.

Would it hurt my ESC to run a pair of 5800mAh 2S 30-60C(Burst) batteries in 4S? I'm currently running 3200mAh 2S 20C batteries in 4S.

That setup would only be bad if your motor were so current hungry that the ESC was the bottleneck. So long as your motor isn't capable of drawing more than your batteries or your ESC can provide you should be good, but with a big stack of batteries like you're describing they're not going to be the limiting factor...

My motor is rated for 80A - Part number BS803-024

Probably not an issue with a car. It is possible to create an issue if you are already right at the ragged edge, the higher voltage under load of a higher C lipo does increase the peak amps a little. But if you were that close many other things would cause problems too. Just keep tabs on motor and ESC temps on the first runs, drop a tooth on the pinion if needed.

This is normally only an issue on airplanes, where there is a frequently a higher and more consistent average load on the system.

Hmm... I guess i'll just go with a 6000mAh 25-35C pack then.
