high voltage servo connection
ok, basic question. looking at one of the high voltage servos (specifically spektrum 6100) that has ratings for 7.4volts. Have an orion vortex r10 pro that has BEC of 5.75volts. I run 40c 5000mah lipo 2s batteries. Can I just connect my servo straight to my receiver or do I have to connect it directly to my battery? I don't necessarily need the full 7.4volt ratings; I'm fine with the 6.0 volt ratings on the servo.
Any help would be great. Thanks! |
It should work fine just plugged into the receiver.
But if you want to jack it up a notch, buy or build a connection like this (for 2S only!): http://mediacdn.shopatron.com/media/...gif?1327827996 http://mediacdn.shopatron.com/media/...gif?1327827996 KO High Voltage Servo Extension |

The battery in those pictures uses removable bananna jacks on the case. The ones installed there are for running. A different set plugs into the pack for charging.

The hot lead off the hv servo lead just ties right into the +lead on the deans or whatever connector you are using off the esc. It's a great piece to get the most out of your servo when your esc won't allow you to.
