need quick help deciding between Gens Ace batteries

Buying 4-6 new batteries today and can't figure out which is the best route to take.

All Gens Ace batteries in 2S configuration.

1) 25c 5500mah for $24.60 Shrink wrap

2) 30c 5300mah for $25 Shrink wrap

3) 30c 5300mah for $28.37 Hard case

4) 40C 5000mah for $28.74 Hard case

They will be used primarily in 4x4 Slash trucks. (two sons and myself) not sure if they will be raced ever but we will probably head to the track with them. All trucks will most likely have the VXL system in them. Nothing crazy as I just want something fun that won't need a ton of maintenance. That said, run time is a plus, but does the extra 500mah fom the 25c pack mean that much more run time? In a stock VXL setup, do I need more than 25C?

thanks guys.

I'd go for either of those. Hard cases are more durable and last longer then soft packs. Its worth the extra $3. Personally i'd take the 40c's over the extra 300mah, but either is fine for what you are using them for.

I just picked two 5000mah 40c hardcase packs and I was extermely happy with the price, and got almost 40 minutes of race practice [vta 25.5] per pack.

I will buy them again when the time comes!!!!!

Number 4 is the safest choice in my opinion:

A 4x4 short course is one of the more demanding RCs for batteries, play it safe, go for the higher C.

And hard case so you have less issues if you ever want to try racing. Hard cases in general, and/or ROAR approved hards, are not required by many tracks, but none will turn you away with them. Believe Gens Ace are now ROAR approved even. Would not be fun to decide to give racing a try and get turned away, or have to buy on the spot. Especially with the young ones along (speaking as a fellow team leader).

Thanks for the advice guys. I pulled the trigger on 4 of the 40c packs and a few lipo battery bags. Also won 4 regular stick packs tonight on ebay for $15 a pop so have enough for everyone now. Glad that is over with for a while.
