storage charge.

last weekend i did the storage charge thing on my lipo`s. they are promatch 5200mah 2s saddle 50c. how often should i cycle them through a storage charge when not using them.

You shouldn't need to touch them at all. Just keep them in a cool place.

ok thanks.

agree
Unlike NIMH LiPOs are ok to sit and stand. they die on cycling so in theory if you don;t use it it shuold last a very very long time

What voltage should they be stored at and what is considered a "storage" period. A month? A few months?

Lipo packs degrade with time, temperature, and resting voltage. If the packs will be stored above room temp (hot car, uninsulated garage in summer, etc.), get them down to storage voltage ASAP (I'd say within a week or less). On the other hand, if they are stored in a cool environment, you can probably let them sit for a month or two with no noticeable loss of capacity.

All I do after running a lipo is check voltage - if its 3.78V~3.92V resting voltage per cell, I leave it alone, that's good enough for storage. Storage voltage is actually a range and the usual figure quoted for storage is just the middle of that range, anywhere in the range is fine. Thsi range is what Hyperion quotes for their lipos.

Long term storage - I put mine in the refrigerator in a ziploc bag, this is months though cause its not worth the trouble for a week or so.
