mamba max esc problem!!!!! Big
 
So heres my problem my mamba max esc is supposed to send 5volts to my reciever so that i can get a signal I checked the voltage on the red wire coming from my esc with my 6 cell pluged in and im only getting 1 volt the only way it works is if i use a external (4 double aa pack) and plug it into the reciever what is the problem its going on a traxxas stampede

Sounds like the internal bec has failed in the ESC

If the ESC still functions correctly you can run with it bypassed

Best option is to send it in for repair

I have a problem too, but I don't know if its the esc. I have a MMP system with the 5700 kV motor. Almost everytime I accelerate hard from a stand still or low rpm my truck will move then suddenly slam on the brakes then take off again. I only ran it once and nothing overheated. Everything was running nice except once in a while it would just slam on the brakes by itself. Also I am new to Lipos and Brushless, how exactly does the lcv works in the esc? Will it just stop sending power from the battery so the vehicle won't move at all? I am using a 5400mah 20c 2s with my MMP system in a sc10 4x4. I've only ran it in a parking lot, and it ran for at least a half an hour with no overheating. When I stop using it the truck was still pulling hard like there was still alot of power in the battery. Should the battery be lasting that long? When I programmed the esc I set the lcv too 6v.

A hlaf hour of run time doesnt sound out of the ordinary with that size of a pack (wish it was a higher C rating but thats a different story).

Check your settings using the castle link software. The LVC will kick in and you should just have steering at that point. 6.0v is a little lower than I like (usually leave it at 2.3v so 6.6v total) as if you have one cell that is weaker it might dip under what I would be comfortable with.

LVC is far too low if you set it for 3.0v / cell

If you want your batteries to last a while it should be set a lot higher

A lipo cell is empty at a resting voltage of around 3.5v, no useable capcity below that and all your do is risk killing your packs early

Good rule to follow is the 80/20

Set your LVC for 3.5v / cell

Packs should come out of the car at around 3.7v / cell (resting voltage)

That means you have left around 20% capacity remaining in the pack

When charging you should be aiming to add 80% of your packs rated capacity

5000mah sized pack, 4000mah added when charging

Check your neutral band in the castle link software. Also might want to see what force they have set in there. Last ditch effort make sure your trims are zero'd out on your TX and recalibrate.

Sounds like a calibration or interference issue to me, nothing to do with LVC

Could even be bec related if you are drawing heaps of amps

Bypass the internal bec and see if the issue goes away
