Dyeing Servo Leads

I've seen people post up pics of their blacked out servo wires. What kind of dye is used (hopefully not Sharpie) and are there any special techniques? Currently I either buy black wire and resolder it, or put heat shrink over the wire. I am also aware there is spiral wrap.

I just read that Bob Stormer says sharpie works well. He's a reliable source, so maybe I'll try that. I was also thinking nail polish.

Nail polish is a thick lacquer based paint. When it dries, it will crack if it flexes even the slightest amount at all.

Most of us use a sharpie marker or paint pen. Either will pass the 3 foot test. I prefer a paint pen prior to installation.

X2 on the paint pen. Acrylic flat black works great.
