Setup help, Futaba 3PKS

Hey guys, picked up a 3PKS to replace my 3PM.

I got it setup correctly, works great so far.

Having some issues setting up the braking. Im using it on electric, but it seems the brake it really strong and ABS is on (can hear it pumping when i apply the brakes). I have the mode set to OFF in the ABS setting.

Also, how would i adjust the amount of braking? Should i program my ESC for less or is there a setting on the 3PKS itself that allows me to control how much braking (want to lessen the amount)?

Thanks.

PS- been reading through the manual, not a huge help as it doesnt explain which setting does what really.

What ESC are you using ?

Normal setup would be ...............

ESC settings
Set forward power to 100%
Set brake to 100%

Transmitter settings
Set throttle trim at centre
Set throttle / brake EPA's (travel) at 100%

Calibrate ESC to transmitter

Once calibrated lower the brake percentage to suit, start at 50%

Cheers

Yep, did that. Using a Novak Havoc Pro SC.

The problem is, once the ESC and everything is set, i move the brake epa setting and the idle light on the ESC goes out.

You can hear it starting to edge forward.

What are you trying to achieve by changing the EPA on the transmitter ?

Does the ESC allow you to set a brake percentage instead ?

Cheers

Yes, was going to mess around with it, but wanted to know if its better to use the functions on the 3PKS.

Trying to lessen the amount of brake, its locks up the back wheels very easily.

ATL is the adjustment to soften braking.

On my Castle equipped electrics I either use the default of 50% or set it to 75 in the ESC depending on the car. Then with the 3PKS ATL set to "100" and throttle EPA set to 100 forward and rev I calibrate the ESC to the radio.

Once this done I lower the ATL between 95 to 75 depending on the car to get the brakes perfect. I usually only use ABS for cars with mechanical brakes.

When i use these adjustments, it will lose the idle light. My ESC has a light that stays solid when its at idle, when i adjust the ATL, that lights starts to blink, which means its shifting out of idle and into FORWARD mode. You can actually hear the whine and beep of the ESC when you apply some power to it.

Thanks a ton for the help.
