binding an lrp sxx

hey I just picked up a used lrpsxxcompetition that I beleive is working (based on the whole package I bought) that I cannot get to bind.
Following the lrp instructions I turn on the trans then the esc, then push and hold the set button for 3 seconds and the blue light is supposed to flash but it doesn't. I tried a bunch of times but no luck.
I checked the usual stuff inc a new sensor cable.
mt4 that works fine
Any tips?

If LRP's stuff doesn't go into set mode, that usually means it is not getting a signal out of your RX.

Does your servo work?
Is the LRP's plug to the RX correct?
Does any other ESC work with that TX/RX?

I reentered the hobby last year after a 15 year break so everything is new (mucho cars have I) 2.4 radiios, brushless and lipos are the bomb. The car I bought was complete other than an rx and has only a few runs on it.
So I had a little time and did some component swapping.
The LRP got signal from another rx, I didn't attempt to program it however. Conversely when I plugged a working esc into the suspect new out of the bag rx it did not get a signal so I think the rx is bad right out of the bag. More testing when I have time to verify. In the meantime I will use a known rx and install it and setup the lrp with it. The TX has room for 9 more cars, guess I need 9 more recievers.
thanks for the tip

Your posts are a bit confusing, to me..

With 2.4 radios you BIND the receiver to the radio FIRST. This must be done before you can do anything else.

You don't bind an esc to anything, you CALIBRATE it to your radio.

Not trying to be a dink, just an FYI trying to help you out.;)
