capacitor help
i have a trackstar 18 esc.
ive read that when the 470uF 25v cap is replaced with a 1500uF 16v cap the cogging on a micro motor is deminished. ive also read that a lower voltage than stock is bad... radio shack had a 1000uF 35v cap. is this too different from the stock one to work? anybody explain why what this guy did WOULD work as he said? |
running a larger voltage rated cap is neither here nor there..... but the micro farad rating does mean a huge thing......
So just as ong as you dont go lower than the factory rated voltage cap your fine... As for the uf rating the bigger the uf rating the longer it takes to fully charge back up after discharging. But if the equipment is quite efficient before the caps were introduced we will never know... So safe bet is to wire them up the same way as it was with a rated cap around the original one.... Jumping up from 470uf to 1000uf is a big step and you will need a big battery to be able to keep the juice up to that.... And the reason I say that is if the system they tested at the factory wasnt up to scratch they added the cap to work on the outside as it would neer fitted into the case of the speedo which alot of ppl dont understand.... There is so many different ways of wiring up caps and alot of maths involved with lots of testing for efficiency on a data logger helps too.. Good luck Fordy |
