Airtronics 492744 receiver input voltage
Hello everyone, I am building my first 1/8 scale nitro buggy and trying to decide on the electronics/radio to use. I will be using a 2s lipo for receiver power along with high voltage servo's either from Savox or Hitec and obviously need to find a receiver capable of running at the higher lipo voltage.
I have a few radios in mind that include receivers compatable with unregulated lipo 2s voltage but one radio package in question is the Airtronics MX-3X. This radio includes the 4 ch 492744 receiver and on the Airtronics web site it claims it is compatable with the higher lipo 7.4 voltage, but when I download the manual for the receiver it states that it is only good for 6v and must be used with a regulator when using a lipo battery. Long story short, is there anyone using this receiver with a unregulated lipo? Thanks for your time. Steve |
The stock 92744 that comes with the MX-3X is the same stock rx that came with my M11X,
I had the same question when I got my M11X and everything said it wasn't good for unregulated LiPo use. Contacted Airtronics about that very thing and found that it would work. It could get a little warm though. I have that Rx in my Truggy right now and haven't had any issues, though the only thing in my Rx box is the Rx and a little foam to keep it from moving around and My Lipo is mounted in the forward batt. box if that makes any difference. |
Thanks for the reply. I guess since this was my first post it took a few days for the moderators to post my question on the forum. While I was waiting I e-mailed Airtronics and got a quick reply from them. They told me as you already know that the receiver will work with a unregulated 2s lipo, that at the time the manual was writen they were still testing the receiver at the higher voltage.
Thanks again for the reply Teufel. |
