Balance plug charging

I was just curious if you can charge a 2 cell LiPo through the balancing plug?
Is it safe to do so? I just wanted to know if that can be done because I want to switch upto LiPo's or a LiFe pack in my D8 and D8T and with the wires in the closed off battery box where I plan on putting my reciever it would be more difficult to open it up just to charge. I guess I could just run the connection just outside the box to the switch. Or I could do the same mod that Ty Tessman did and modify the battery box and have it open and the connection outside to the switch but still want to know if it's safe to charge through the balance cable?

There are chargers that can only charge this way - I have the one HK sells, the Hexatronic charger that I use with prob lipos where cells won't balance or take abnormal long time. Charge rate charging this way is lower, max is 2a due to small balance wire sizes.

You'll have to rig an adapter to make the connection, but its not difficult.

The FMA 4S charger will only charge through the balance plug but will charge up to 4A.
