servo endpoints
 

So I was setting up the endpoints on my servos the other day and noticed that when I use endpoints it seems like by the time it reaches its end point it is only using say 100oz oz pressure to hold the wheels in place when turning, it feels weak. When I dont use endpoints and turn the wheels it seems like the servo has very good pressure that holds the wheels in place, and also when I use end points it seems like the servo is very slow as it looses so much power by the time it reaches the end point. Is this normal with properly set endpoints, If so whats that point of buying a 350oz servo when by the time it reaches its max endpoint its only using about 80 to 100oz. I need to figure this out I just burned up my servo and dont want to burn out my new ones. The radio I use is a 3pm-x I dont know if that has anything to do with it or not, Thank you.

No that's not normal. Your servo should produce the same amount of torque throughout it's range of motion. Linkage setup can cause an exponential variance at the end of the linkage chain, but the possible cause that springs to mind at the moment, is that if you're using a servo saver, it could be loose/soft towards center and when you set your endpoints out further, you're over-driving the servo saver to the point that it has no further spring action, allowing you to feel the full force of the servo.....does that make any sense to you? Just guessing here.

ah yes that was it I think the servo saver spring was loose and I was feeling spring pressure as you said. I tightened it up and it made a big difference. thanks
