Dx3.0 and sr3000 problems :(

Hi there guys

I've just finished fixin my vonerrr and hooked up the above transmitter and receiver.

Walked outside not even 10 metres and the car did a run away :(

I've bonded the rx and tx and set the failsafe aswell

when I brought the car back in from run away

I sat the car on table and asked my brother to visually watch the servos while I press the throttle and steering at 2 bursts per second

when I get about 3-6 metres it starts to cut out and back in again without the failsafe coming on

can someone please help me?
Do I have a dud receiver or transmitter?

It's shattering knowing you have something good but it doesn't work or it's dead

thanks for reading again

I'm guessing your running a nitro, so a servo for throttle and one for steering. Have you checked the reciever battery, make sure it's charged or fresh batteries put in and there are no exposed wires to the reciever. Also put some rubber bands between the end of the slide where the throttle servo connects and then around the carb body tight enough to return it to idle if you lose power from the battery (have experience from a run away) because failsafes don't work if the reciever battery is dead. It sounds like your losing power to the reciever but also put fresh batteries into your transmitter as well to cover your bases. If you have tried the fresh or charged batteries then you have to move onto transmitter or reciever problems but you don't mention anything about the batteries so try it you may be surprised. Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply bro

yeh the batterys are fully charged, transmitter and reciever is full

close up is fine (about 2-3 meters)

beyond that it cuts out and in and out,
only selecting and receiving some of the outputs from the transmitter that i am pressing,

it's really weird.

both transmitter and receiver light never go out tho, solid green light all the time

Have you checked the antennas on both? I know the reciever has a slip on connection inside the casing on the board, also have you shortened the antenna at all on the reciever? Trying contacting Spektrum and explaining your problem or going to their website and viewing their FAQ pages. Or look on the Horizon website for contacts, FAQ's or recalls for your radio. Only time I've had problems is with low voltage on the batteries never had any other problems with my DX3S and 3 recievers.
