Stupid Question

I know that this sound stupid but here it is , with how many amps should i charge a 1700mah receiver pack and how many should to discharge?

Amps? As in charging amps? 1.7 for 1c. Or do you mean amps as in "my charger put in 1900 when charging and the battery says it holds 1700." That is expressed as mah. During charging if it goes over your battery cap by a little its ok.

yes i mean with how many charging amps i chArge and discharge ? and also i see that the voltage exceed the 7 volts , and the battery is 6v , 1C that you mentioned i charge for 1hour at 1.7 amps?

I agree 1.7 amps is safe, 1C is a lipo term normally. Simply charge it and let it peak, watching for excess heat. Seeing 7v is normal, 6v is the nominal voltage and is not the same as a pack that is full.

1C refers to mah/1000 and won't exactly mean charging at 1C will result in a full charge after 1 hour, charge time can vary...

Since it is a 1700mah pack that is 6V I'm betting it's a 5 cell NiMH pack. This should be charge by a charger capable of peak detection in NiMH mode.

First be sure what chemistry battery you have because the way you charge them is dependant on battery type. Mischarging either type can lead to a very bad experience.

If this is a 5 cell type pac made from 2/3a or AA cells, I wouldn't charge it at over 1amp.

The 1C business is good with lipo (where it originated) and ok as a guideline for bigger sub c sized NiMhs, but for the smaller ones like 2/3a and AAs, fast charge at 1amp and slow charge at 0.5a. I slow charge mine as much as I can -they last a lot longer than way.

Says "quick charge at 1.7 amps" right on the label of the pack.
