MX-3X vs MT-4
Hi there.
Im after a radio to replace my DX3S( interference issues ) I need the more modern FHSS system. What are the real world differences between the Sanwa/Airtoninics MX-3X vs MT4 ?? I dont need telemetry & liked the feel of the MT4, but it costs $50 more & I still need a 2nd receiver. (Limited budget) Position of the screen isnt an issue either. I dont chevck the screen or twiddle knobs when Im racing. Do they have a similar feel in the hand. Is build quality similar ?? Cheers |

Cheers
I ordered the MX-3X & extra receiver yesterday. I sorta still wonder about the LONG TERM reliability of the MT4. Telemetry (& 4 ch)recievers are sort of big in comparison . The MX3 has been around in various forms & models for a long time now. Cant go wrong. |

The only thing you might to adjust is the throttle trigger because its kind of loose, i adjusted my tighter and feels great . Usually yes the more expensive the radio is the better for sure my "futaba 3pk" . Which was $300 lasted me about 8 years intill now it has a bad delay so it was time to get a new radio. But airtronics quality is good so it should last pretty long. The best thing to do is to keep your radio clean on the outside and the inside if you want it to last long . |

with the MX-3X you already get one FHSS-3 receiver so all you'll need is one more and you'll be good to go. or you could get the FHSS-2 receiver and come out with the same price as the MT-4 and have 2 receivers.

What's the difference between the 2 and the 3 FHSS receivers? I'm guessing the 3 is faster?
What do you mean by loose? I've got an MX-3X as well. How do you keep the inside clean? Are you taking the radio apart? also on TC5, i think he is talking about how airtronics you can adjust the tension on the trigger and steering wheel with an allen wrench without taking apart the radio, its really nice. i loosened mine up. mine is the M11x though. however my dad uses the MX-3X, he really likes it. i didnt like it when i had one, it was lighter than m11x and i like where the wheel is on the m11x, but other than that they perform the same. |

yes, the FHSS-3 is faster, but also has a better receiver all around. the 2 had problems with the bind button breaking and not being able to be used anymore. but most people cant tell the speed difference between the two. i mainly got the 3 receivers because of the better bind plug, but once i used it more and tried a 2 i could tell it was slower.

Yea thats what i did i adjusted the "throttle trigger its not to stiff just a bit i think il like it though. I dont see a screw underneth the steering wheel though on this radio to change the stiffness ? Oh yea its light man with only four AAA batterys. Its pretty responsive for sure if i only give a little throttle it will react right away thats goes for the steering also  One thing i will have to get used to is not having my steering wheel drop down like my futaba 3pk . But it was easy to bind and way easier to nagivate than the 3pk without the useless stuff . |

the MX-3X may not have a wheel adjustment, the M11x does. i havent really looked at the MX-3X and i owned one lol i used it twice and bought a M11x  but my dad loves his, says its not so heavy LOL
Yea i defietly did not see a adjustment screw for the wheel but its not bad though feel wise, Im not sure why it doesnt though. Yea its light i like that though when i race longer mains with my E-Truggie i rather have a lighter radio. |
Okay. Thanks. I know the trigger can be adjusted but I haven't played around with that setting yet. I don't mind how it comes stock at this point.
For the price, before it went up, I think its plenty capable and comes with the same receiver as the M11x. How long as the M11x been out? Thanks |
