Motor timing help
Need Help on the pros for adding timing at the motor. I have an orion vst 8.5, ko vfs 1.5 speedo, and a smc 5000mah 50c battery. Would like to know if more timing would give more power?

More timing generally means more overall power. This comes at the expense of more heat and in some cases your low end torque can be slightly reduced. It doesnt take much to make a difference so start small and monitor your motor temperature often until you are certain it will not run hot, as long as it stays within temp specs you can move it up or down as needed to gain more high or low RPM power.

Please help me understand timing please.
I wanted to aks, do all motors allow timinig?
I noticed that the motor I am currently looking at for 17.5 is being described on the site at "FIXED TIMING 0 deg" So I am assuming that in order for the ECU to add timing the motore need to have this capability? Please help me understand timing please. |
