Broken 4s Lipo
 

So, i was racing at the track this past weekend, and i had my turnigy 4500mah 4s lipo, and was plugging it into the car, when: snap! there was a loud pop and spark. I knew i fried the esc (was testing out the sc8 hobbywing, friends were saying it was bad), but what about the battery? yes, shorted also. opened it up, and the only thing i noticed is one of the small tabs going from the cell to the green board was broken. I hooked it up to the balancer, and 2-3 out of 4 cells lights lit up. so...how can i fix it? have had it for about 2 months, no problems at all. so, also outside of warranty. thanks

If you are confident with lipo technology (soldering and pack construction) you could attempt to repair the pack with cells that are still ok

If not confident, ditch it and get a new pack

If I understand your description correctly, sounds like you need to re-solder that tab. Just be careful you don't short anything while you're in there.

doubt you'd kill yourself but you might make a hell of a bang. i suggest doing any such work outside just in case it does go on fire.. you dont want that smoke damage inside
