Hobbywing esc cap replacement

I have a justock HW esc i need to replace the cap on, the one that came with it got damaged. Does it matter what I replace it with? I have a couple of old caps sitting in my pit box from older esc's. Size doesn't matter I just need to replace it. Would a cap with a higher voltage printed on it be better?

You can replace the caps with pretty much any cap. Dont go with a higher voltage (Say over 20 volts). 16V and 20V caps are smaller in size for there capacitance.

I would use a 470uF as a safe bet, Try and read the values from the capacitor board that shipped with the unit though.

Or spend $4 and get a new HW part.

Shawn.
