Tekin esc choices

I want to change from Novak to a Tekin esc, I will be using the esc in a Team Associated SC10. I noticed the RS esc's have no fan for cooling, do the RS series have any heat issues without the fan?

Thanks in advance.

No. Any ESC should be able to run cool w/o a fan. As long as you use a reasonable KV motor and decent battery you are golden. You shouldn't rely on a fan to keep your system cool. Fans go out all the time. Glad to hear you are scrapping the Novak.

I use a RS non pro in my TQ SC truck with no problems. I'm running the Tekin 9.5 motor. Super smooth and power when needed.

Just like my buddy trashedmaxx.. I'm using a RS with a 10.5 in my SC10 and I ran a full 40 minutes of practice and when I pulled the truck the esc was 135 and the motor was 145... works for me, not to mention that was 40 freakin minutes!

Go with the Tekin. U'll not be disappointed. You won't need a fan and you'll have excellent power backed by superior support If u ever need it. :sneaky:

The regular RS will most likely have issues if you use a 6.5T or lower. The RSPro should not have any issues with any 540 size motor.

If you are thinking about running 550s in your 4x4 in the future, you should get the RS Pro or the RX8. Size does not matter in an SCT. ;)

I'm really happy with my RS. The large solder posts act as cooling fins, which is why you should not cover them with heatshrink.

Very Good point there..I run an Rspro in my 2wd Sct. I like the idea of it just being able to handle the smaller turn motors, and it deals with heat a little better-sometimes I run an underbody to keep everything clean, but it does not let as much air flow to the electronics..Good luck with your choice, and check the Tekin thread if you need help with set-ups or anything else..http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...froad-150.html
