Servo problem
Hi guys,
I'm currently using a Hitec 7966 servo in my Xray T2009 with a Sanwa RX-451 receiver. The problem is whenever there is a slight knock to the car, the servo goes off-centre and won't return to centre. I have to take out the servo horn and recalibrate again and this goes on everytime i get a bump. So is my servo damaged? Or is it the servo saver in the car? Any advice before i go off and get a new servo? Thanks!!! |
I would first check to see if the splines in the servo horn are okay. Sounds like they might be rounded off enough to just slip a tooth with resistance. It could also be that the horn socket has stretched or is the wrong horn for the hitec splines.
If that doesn't get it, I would start looking into having your servo programmed for deadband, etc. If it's not the horn, I would guess it is not detecting center position properly. I do not believe it is your receiver. |
Thanks for the reply, i think i used the wrong servo horn as the kit supplied ones are 23T(KO Propo) and 25T(Futaba) and i needed a 24T one for Hitec servos. Funny though coz the 23T one fits but not the 25T one. Now to find a 24T servo horn!!!

You should be able to run an alloy servo horn for Hitec servos without much issue. They usually have enough holes to find one close to the length of the stock horn.
