Castle Problem
I picked up a MMM/2200kv combo for my rc8. It's basically my first time setting up an electric. The problem is when I start out slow I get this little burst of speed. It only lasts about 1 second. I tried changing castle settings, swapping radios, different brand of batteries. I made a quick video to show what I mean. Everything else works great. This is my only brushless aside from my flux and that never had any problems so I'm at a loss.
Here is the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyrbK...e_gdata_player |
Have you tried setting you esc to default setting? Or checked the parameters for the throttle curve that can be adjusted?
|
Looks normal to me
What ESC settings are you using ? Timing Punch Control Torque Limit Drag Brake Start Power Cheers |
Right now they are default and it's still doing it

Sensorless brushless motors by nature will cog at low speeds
The 2200 is a huge motor capable of massive power, it takes a bit to get it moving Have you calibrated your transmitter to the ESC (with your throttle trim centered and throttle / brake travel EPA's set at 100%) ? If it goes away once you gradually pull on the throttle you have nothing to worry about What battery are you using ? Cheers |
Might be cogging, but my MM with a 2650 kV motor don't act like this when running with the wheels in the air. It gradually increases the speed as you will expect it to do, not "shooting" away like in this video here.

have you checked for binding in you drive train or the mesh on you spur? If there is too muck resistance then the motor could be trying to compensate for it.
