2 cell VS 3 cell

If you have two vehicles geared to go the same speed, but one is running 2 cell and the other is running 3 cell with both having 5000 mah and lets say in a 8 min race. The question is over the span of the race will the 2 cell's power drop off faster than the 3 cell. Thus giving the 3 cell the advantage? Should all vehicles run the same number of cells unless it's called "unlimited open class"? Thanks in advance for your in put.:confused:

Quite hard to compare as the motor will respond differently on a higher voltage

If the packs are the same size in mah the 3s driver will have the ability to run for 50% longer (assuming the motor makes the same power)

Cheers
