storing lipos

ok didn't know where to put this so here it goes. Have 5 2s hard case lipos getting summertime and need to know when not at the track where or what people keep them in. My garage would be ideal but unattached and gets hot thinking to hot for lipo. So the house is the only option I know nothings safe and will have smoke but don't want the house to burn down. If I keep all together one goes they all could go. So a sack for each one would be a start. Any other tips or suggestions.

As far as I know a cool, but not 65 degrees dry enviroment. I think your you garage would be fine. Just dont set them in front of a window to bake in the sun. I bought my Lipo Bag from Hobbypartz for like $5. Im guessing 3 would do it. Two in each and one alone. You could also look into an ammo box. I think that would work to keep them in your home. Ive stored my lipos outside the bag and never have a problem. Just make shure there balenced and stored at 3.86-3.87v per cell in a cool dry place and maybe peek on em every few days! I think you'll be fine

well was thinking more for the summer 90 plus temps in a shut up garage while I am at work for 12 hours. I have 2 in house in a liposack and inside one of those turkey fryers. LOL will blow the lid but will handle the fire temps.

Some people put them in ziplock and store in fridge. You just have to let them return to room temp before using.

I store min in the frig at 40F in the veg crisper - but this is long term storage since there's a full 24hrs needed to allow them to return to temp before charging and using. Too much time and trouble for short term storage.

I wouldn't leave them in the garage or the car where it can get plenty hot - my garage gets to a measured 135-137F in the summer, car with windows closed gets hotter than that, at least here. I lost the tree that used to shade the garage and it cooks in there now.

I'd find the coolest room in the house and leave them there. Hyperion advises "Batteries are best stored in a cool, dry environment (2~20 °C or 37~68 °F)". Some use a 50cal ammo can to store them in, some use a lipo sack. I store the lipos I 'm using on a thick porcelain plate in the open in the house and have done it this way for years. If you have one that's puffed where the rest are not, I would separate that one from the rest. If they all look fine, charge fine and run fine, I'm not sure I'd worry about them too much.

The danger aspect of lipo is over hyped in my opinion. A real unprovoked lipo incident is prob about the same odds as being struck by lightning.

I keep mine on a shelf in the hobby room in my house. Been that way for a couple of years. No issues.

Thousands of LiPo packs across the country are hanging on pegboards in hobby shops. They're not as unstable as some people would have you believe.

Thats what I was gonna say. I keep mine sittin on a plastic milk crate in my Man cave (basement) and never had any problems. Its cool and dry. I wouldnt put to much stress into that whole where to keep em thing. There perfectly safe as long as you use, store and charge them correctly. I read that freezer and frodge storage isnt good. I read that its a myth. I think you want temperate temps. Like 60-70 degrees Im guessing sounds about "room temp". Like I said..Get a AMMO box at Cabela's or something. That should work.

Guess that no one's told Hyperion/TP that refrigerated storage is a 'fairy tale' then, cause they both use refrigerated bulk storage for their lipos....

well going to get a couple ammo box's for the piece of mind. Three bought used 2 not 100% comfortable with yet. So will be in the orignal liposack I have and an ammo box. Thanks all for the help
