Castle Link Torque Limit Test ???
 

I am running Castle Link V1.32
When I try to use the Torque limit and run the test seems like ESC is not responding.

Click run test
*(Selected value and left default)
Click update
Connect ESC to RX
Power Up
Reg start up tones
Full throttle
*** Solid lights and does NOT shut down after 3 sec. ***

When I plug back into CL and check the print Preview under Kv still says awaiting motor test. Also warning screen pops up saying test will begin at next run.

Did I miss a step ?

I'm not sure, but I think they may have disabled this over confusion about 4 pole motors. You may find this interesting and hae access to teh result via this approach, see the post #1 -

Castle Motor Test
 

Hi,

I'm running a Mamba Max Pro and was scratching my head on this initially too. Unfortunately, Castle's instructions in the software are very unclear on this; however, I was able to get it to work. Here's what I did:

1. Make sure the ESC's switch is off.
2. Unplug battery.
3. Connect Castle Link.
4. Open Software.
5. Turn on the motor test in Castle Link software.
6. Update settings.
7. Close software.
8. Unplug Castle Link.
9. Move or remove the motor so that it can spin freely without engaging the spur and pinion gears.
10. Plug in the receiver.
11. Plug in battery.
12. Turn on the controller.
13. Turn on the ESC's switch.
14. Wait for the ESC to start up and give the lights that indicate test mode is ready. (If you get normal startup tones and then only a single yellow light and the motor runs normally rather than like in step 15, you've done something wrong, start over.)
15. Hold full throttle until the motor stops (about 3 seconds).
16. Turn off the switch.
17. Unplug the battery.
18. Unplug the receiver and plug in the Castle Link.
19. Start the software.
20. You should now be able to see something that says the motor test worked.
21. If you use the feature for printing the settings, you will see your motor KV on the printout.

Also, if this doesn't work, make sure you have updated your ESC's firmware to the latest version. Not all versions support the torque limit feature.

I had to sign up just to thank you for the write up. Awesome!

I will be printing these off to keep with my owners manual for quick reference.

At first this did not work for me. I was a little distraught, but I remembered that I had some of the power settings dialed down.

In order for the test to complete, I had to take the settings on the power tab in the software to default, then the test performed exactly as described.
