Smallest power supply

So far this is the smallest power supply I have found. I don't ever charge more than two 2s packs at 5 amps even though they can handle more.

Is there anything out there smaller?

What power output does your charger have ?

To charge a 2s pack at 5 amps requires a charger with a 42 watt output

Cheers

I have 250w chargers, but what does it matter? I'm looking for small power supplies.

If your only concern is size, your best bet might be searching eBay for a laptop power supply that fits your needs.

The higher the power your charger can charge, the bigger the PSU it will need to power it. M1A2 tank will not move on a Ford Pinto engine...

Laptop PSU brick will not be able to supply 250w for you chargers...

THat's not true. If you have a 250W charger, but your only using 50W, then that's all your power supply needs to provide.
Just because you have a V8, doesn't mean you HAVE to drive it at 150 all the time!

I don't ever charge more than 5amps on 2s lipos x 2. So all I need is 10 amps. I'll look into the laptop PS deal.

Thanks

Yes, if you only use 50w then that's all the power you will need but then why did you buy a 250w charger or a V8 to begin with? Bragging rights?

How did you get 10 amps again?

I have two chargers. Both of which are charging at 5 amps on 2s packs each.

.....now back on topic. I'm looking for a small power supply. I'm not trying to show off my chargers.

Has anyone used/converted a laptop PS? They seem to be outputting in the range of 18v+, 6 amps, and 100+ watts. They seem to be good enough for 1 charger, but not two. But they are also very small, so having two might not be an issue.

I use a converted 800w server power supply with a 8"x3"x3" footprint with three sets of bullet connectors and it powers my charger, my sons and a friend that shares a pit space with us with no problems after a year of using it. Don't know how small your looking for but maybe a 500w or 600w computer power supply would be worth looking at.

I use a cheap 12v 5A power supply
.http://www.hobbypartz.com/acadfortht6c.html
I guess its 7.5A, but I dont care. Ive been using it with this charger for ever and its never had any issues! At least 100+ charges, discharges, etc

I charge 2s, 3s, 4s up to 5 amps. Everything stays cool. For under $40 Im happy.

If you are looking for a small, slim and quality laptop PSU brick, try this one: http://www.huntkeydiy.com/ProductsPa...274c11bd4c0056

Very high quality, not 100w but 90w though, 5.2A max at 15-16V.

Good luck.

That seems to be the route I'll be going. I'll just have to run 2. I'll keep looking around and I'll see what I come up with. Thanks everyone.

Here is one you could run bouth chargers off of. Case Dimensions: 194mm x 95mm x 54mm (60mm tall with 4 rubbers on bottom)
http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-g350-powersupply.html

And a couple of converted power supply threads. I have not yet tried any of these! Thanks to those that created them to use. Anyway:
