so i just got back into rc and now theres lipos, cheap chargers and new brands. got a 4wd stampede, been wanted one for about 10 years lol and this waterproof business is just crazy!! anyway

i currently have a super brain 969 with the lipo update (now called 977) it can charge up to 5 amps and DOES NOT BALANCE or do life-po. i dont want to spend over $100
should i get a new charger or just buy a balancer for this one?
do i need a charger that does more than 5 amps for charging a 3 cell lipo?
anyone herd of chargery they have one for $65 that does up to 10 amps

As long as you're only charging 2S and 3S lipos, an AC/DC powered charger with 80watts of power will be adequate. Separate balancer is the cheap, but the complicated option since it requires additional wiring.



The Thunder AC680 has a balancer built in and it will balance charge both lipo and life. Its way less than $100 -
