traxxas tranmitter, Spektrum reciever

Is there any way I can make a 2 channel traxxas 2.4 ghz transmitter work with a spektrum SR300 receiver because I caught my traxxas reciever on fire and recieved this reciever in trade but no transmitter?thanks

Diff brands of 2.4 radio equip generally won't work together.....
