Probably your low voltage protection setup. It is probably on.

Ok, motor all connected now. I think the flashing red led was just telling me I need to recalibrate.

So, trying to recalibrate. Press & hold ESC powner switch until red led flashes. Press switch again, Red led goes out & green led flashes to signal successful setting of neural position, per instructions. Now I pull the throttle & Press switch again, but nothing happens. I can't even turn the ESC off to start over . Have to disconnect battery. All transmitter settings are at default.

Any suggestions? I don't have the programming box unfortunately.

Edit: ignore me. ESC was plugged into wrong port on receiver...

Brand New xr8 sct.....program box keep saying please update software....anybody now how this is done....I have updated the firmware on the program box....it is not showing any updates on the esc

Which version of the program box do you have? There's at least 2 versions of the LCD program box. The older one can't support newer ESCs.

While not entirely the same, there are distinct similarities between your problem, and the problem I had with my XR10 Pro Stock Spec. Initially, I had problems getting the throttle calibration accomplished, and then, once that was finally acvomplished, the ESC refused to connect to the app via the WiFi Module. The "final step" was when the ESC stopped working, and, like you, the only way to 'turn it off' was to unplug one of the power leads. I have an RMA, and will be shipping the ESC to HW tomorrow. I realize that my v4 was just recently released, but here's to hoping that the replacement is "problem free". From all I've been told (in here, in another forum, and in-person by others), HW makes excellent-quality products. I'd like to stick with HW, but waiting to see how the current situation pans out.

Default Hobbywing Platinum opto V4 130 A

Hi

Trying to setup the reverse brake option. No luck.
All other 3 brake options seem to work.
Once I set the brake to reverse I get only single beeps like there is no connection to the Rx.
Anyone?

Whats the better choice for 8th scale sct pro or xr8 really just wondering is it worth the extra for the xr8.

XR8 Plus is a great investment. The XR8 sct will work as well, depends on what you require. The XR8 plus in 1/8 onroad is the ticket, it can handle 4S without overheating or slowing down.

If you want peace of mind, run the XR8 to ensure lower temps and more features like HV BEC and ability to run up to 6S later if you want.

I have ran 4S in my eBuggy just fine with the SCT Pro, but that is close to the max limit that the ESC is rated to handle, totally doable.

Default Max 10 vs. Quicrun bl120

Sooooo, I currently have a quicrun bl 120, and I run it in my t5m for practice racing, not proper racing, but I run 2s lipo on it with a 10.5 sensored motor. Anyways, I got a new 4x4 sct and its pretty heavy compared to the t5m, but looking at the specs of the max 10(designed for 4x4 sct's), which has 80a max , but the quicrun is 120a max but is meant for 2wd buggies and trucks, what's the difference? They both can do 2-3s lipos, they have a fan, and both can run sensorless (the quicrun can run sensored also) motors, but one has higher constant amp draw. show me your opinions or comments because im very confused on what to use, I mean i have the quicrun, but should I use it or not?

Based on what HW said in their email, it wasn't the low voltage protection...but, they are replacing it.
