For what they offer, i would not call them old... they work just fine. I am sure once the industry gets nack on its feet something new is around the corner. I highly doubt whatever HW comes out with will make the current XR8 lineup obsolete.

Hey guys got a small problem maybe it's happened to someone else. I had created a profile with the wifi link and set it to run that profile. Problem is it would switch the profile sometimes in mid run to a zero timing profile. I could tell because I'm using it for drag racing and it's noticeably slower with no timing and boost. I would reset it to the profile I wanted and reset the esc and it will be on the setting I wanted. Turn it off and back on and it's zero timing again. I have updated the esc and I am leaving the wifi link plugged in so i can make changes quickl . Should I unplug it after I'm done switching profiles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think unplugging it might do it. Although I never heard of this happening before

Default ezrun 400kv

I have a ezrun 3656. I haven't ran the truck in years. I just tried plugging in my battery and it started cogging.

Similar to this:

Any way to fix this? Haven't tried to resolder the connectors, but I did reset and recalibrate the esc. I did notice the wire shouldn't to the battery was frayed, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Also, I don't hear the initial two beeps at the beginning like my other escs.

I'm running the same exact setup on another truck, but that is working fine. Any ideas?

I cannot for the life of me get the ESC to calibrate properly but i know it works as i have raced many times with my MT44
I press and hold the power switch and when it beeps i let go. I leave the transmitter in neutral and press the button again but the light goes out and i can only turn off the ESC by pulling a wire to the battery. its as if it isnt receiving the neutral signal
I have the transmitter working fine with an SMD receiver using VRC software on my PC (and a different model profile!) so know that it works fine

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have to tried to set the throttle and brake EPA's to 150% ? And also try the 50/50 throttle mode instead of the default 70/30.

sounds like he is in the wrong response mode for the esc,SHR is what is necessary. Never use 50/50 for racing purposes always 70/30

Yea, that could also be a problem. Yea 70/30 is the way to go, but certain ESC's don't want to calibrate with this setting and require 50/50.

What happened to COBRARACING? He hasn't logged on in years and he was a great resource!

Hi - Just recently purchased the HW XR10 Pro G2 and WiFi module. Installed them in my drag car with the new Tekin G4 eliminator motor. Two or three minutes into conservative driving I noticed a weird smell. Stopped and unhooked the 2S battery. Noticed the capacitor shrink wrap had melted. Took the car home and checked to see if the ESC was still working. I noticed the wifi module led was not coming on or responding to connections. Hooked up the program box and all was fine, it let me scroll through the settings. Turned it off to unhook the programmer and when it shut down I heard a crackle sound. Now when I try to turn it on it shuts right down. Battery was never connected in reverse polarity and ESC was soldered up properly to the motor using factory wires.
Pissed this has happened to brand new components.
I tried hooking the wifi express module to another hobbywing XR10 pro and no led light so I have a feeling this is now dead.
What happened, and has anyone had an issue similar to this?

It sounds to me like both items got fried. I would get ahold of hobby wing and see if you can get them fixed or replaced. Do you have a receipt for the items?
