I have a few of the new G2 ESCs...... I had a brand new stealth version I mounted in my B6.1 that I sold before I used it. I sold it because I bought a elite edition. The elite edition has a really cool silver case with the red stripe...... Performance wise they are the same however the elite looks really cool.

Iíve learned to just throw away the defective ESC and just buy a new one. Itís not even worth all the back and forth emails and filling out forms, running to the post office trying to claim a warranty HW might or might not authorize.

SERIOUSLY? You have GOT to be kidding? Where do you come up with "it's not even worth it"? While some Hobbywing ESCs are priced as low as $35, others are $200+, so setting up an RMA is VERY MUCH "worth it". Also, don't get (at all) your "back and forth emails and filling out forms" comment, as Hobbywing's RMA process is MUCH easier AND faster than that (the same can be said for most companies). When one of my HW ESCs went "poof" (a month after the warranty 'expired', no less), I submitted a 'service request form' (via their website)...and, within hours, not only did I have the RMA, I also had a pre-paid return label (yes, they covered the return shipping cost). I dropped the package off the next day, and, less than two weeks later, I received a brand-new ESC. As I understand it, they weren't able to accurately determine the cause of the failure, so, instead of attempting to repair it, they just decided to replace it.

HW XR10 Stock Spec 80A

I was running at the track with a fully charged battery(blinky mode) and after 2 minutes I was losing power slowly until the buggy just stopped. I replaced the sensor wire with a new one and after 2 minutes ... the buggy just stopped again.
Motor fan was on. Light on the receiver was on. No Steering and no throttle. The ESC was displaying a solid RED light.

I turned it off and then turned it on again.... still RED light on the esc , no steering, no throttle. I know there is juice in the battery since the fan was on and the receiver light was on.
No fumes and no smell. Cut off was on 3.5V . Checked the battery it was still 4.10 V each cell

Anybody ever encountered this problem? What does a solid red light on the esc means?

What is the temp on the motor and ESC? you maybe hitting the temp overheat mode.... Check temps and also see what temp the overheat setting set at. Did it start working again or still stuck on red? You could also try and reinstall the software on the esc aka firmware update.

Before I open my wallet, is there an updated version of the Stock Spec XR10 on the way?

LVC is not set for 1 cell on that speedo it's the whole pack voltage, so be careful. Was it hot?
