Default motor cogging

recent problem with low speed serious cogging with my Hobbywing Trackstar SC120 and Tenshock 4400 motor. Now lose motor and steering after 2 minutes run time. Tried several different batteries and glitch buster. No improvement. Any Idea?

question about an older esc. I have a justock 45a blue edition. I know or at least think that the motor timing in the esc is set and locked at 0. i am wondering if I can adjust the mechanical timing on the endbell of the motor? will the esc allow this and is it ok to do?
thank you

ok thanks. I have been trying to adjust the timing to find the motor sweet spot by monitoring the amp draw. the motor is a tekin gen2 17.5t and I can only get the endbell timing to 15-17 before the esc shuts the motor down. the amp draw is only like 3 amps. not sure why the esc would shut down. the motor temp is pretty cool.

That's strange. The only time the ESC should kill motor power is if voltage gets to low, the timing is WAY to high, or if there is a temperature issue.

First I would double check all of your wires, solder connections, sensor wire, etc.

Second, try to re-calibrate the ESC to your radio and make sure there isn't a goofy issue with your endpoints (set both to 100%)

If those don't help, I would try disabling your motor overheat protection and see if that fixes the issue. That feature is really only designed to work with HW motors anyway.

My LCD Multifunction program box will not connect to my Stock spec V3.1 ESC. Do I need to update the firmware in the program box? If I do update, will the program box still work with my 120A V2.1 ESC?

I think my current program box firmware is 1.14 (going off memory)

Did you check the manual? The LED error states should be described there

my program box connects to my v2.1 & v3.1 with no updates to the programmer, i didnt even know there was a update. just go to HW site, download the tool & do it on your computer as well as update the V2 firmware

I just checked the manual and it's in there. Current overload protection. Maybe you've got a short or the ESC is damaged.

Thx. I looked with no luck. Sounds like I need to send it in and hope they help with it. Thx again.

Does anyone know the story on the 120A V3 ESC? This seems to be a short lived ESC before becoming the V3.1.

The reason I ask is that i obtained a used one, and have been running it in one of my less serious race classes. I dont have any problems with it but have been using the V3.1 manual and firmware updates as anything specific to the V3 seems to be non-existant.

My Hobbywing 3.1 stock spec is not working right. On Wednesday night racing I was running 9.5 Reedy toward the end of the run the motor got very hot and stopped running. Tried installing a new Orion 6.5 and the motor will not turn over unless you manually spin the wheels first. Tried this with 2 other motors that were working in other cars. Same results. Could the Reedy 9.5 running hot have damaged the ESC so it functions this way?
I tried connecting the ESC to the USB link software to do a factory reset and still the same issue... Any ideas anyone?

Default xr10 blinky with softening?

Might be wrong thread...
Running 6.5 blinky 1S pan car with XR10 1s or 2s.
Now new problem, it is that when using softening (example 10% and 5-30degrees) it doesn't anymore state by blinking in neutral that ESC is in blinky mode.
Only way to have it on blinky, is to forget softening settings and put those to 0.

Is it really true that low end punch is not possible to tune with softening so that ESC is still in blinky?

2s has XR-4.2.0.6 and 1s XR-4.2.0.1-BRCA or XR-4.2.0.2 firmware.
