What car/ESC are you running? 120F isn't hot. Gear for 140 - 160 (some might even recommend 160 - 180).

Anybody get creative and remove that secondary power button/switch? I understand that this would adversely impact my warranty.
Do you mean the XR10 Stock Spec? If so, the second power switch can be disconnected right from the ESC...

Also, would this be available on all these esc's?
Ron Schuur did a solid segment on this in a recent video posted by JConcepts. That particular setting is only offered on the XR10 line of ESC's at this time. Basically, if my understanding is correct, lowering the frequency increases the punch in the lower RPM range, but it makes the power output less consistent and smooth throughout the usable range. The motor will also run hotter. Increasing the frequency smooths out the punch by pulling some torque away which may give you some additional RPM. Make sense?

I went from 2k to 4K on my throttle freq this past weekend in my B6D, and it was crazy how much difference it made. I did notice a little less punch, but it definitely made the throttle response smoother and a little more forgiving (less wheel spin). I'm not sure if I'll keep it there, but it was definitely interesting and it's certainly nice to have those options.

I just finished looked at all the current lineup of HW esc on their site and discovered that this was only available on the xr10's. So, my next question is would adjusting the curve in either the esc or my MT4 radio give me a similar affect? I am not even sure if all my esc's allow for custom throttle curve or not. I know some of them do. But, if the curve adjustment on the radio will accomplish a similar result, I can obviously make those adjustments to each car.

Anyone know how to be able to reverse motor direction on a Justock XR10 zero timing?? I have the programming card(both styles). Purchased this for my SCX10.2 kit at my LHS, not realizing that it will not allow me to run it in reverse, unless running in unsensored mode. Thanks for any help!

I recently bought a used V3.1 120amp esc to run in my T5m. Before I ran it I reset the settings to default and I'm running the Blinky profile.

I've run it for 2 race days at a very small indoor clay track and I've burned my motor out in both mains. The first one was a 13.5t that I also got used so I dont know the history on it so it might have already been junk. The second one was a 8.5t that I bought new so I know it was never over heated and worked fine up until last night. I can't recall the gearing i'm running but its not over geared and since the track is so small I'm never close to full throttle either.

I'm looking for ideas what to look at.

The one weird thing was when I've got the esc hooked to the computer some of the settings dont show normal numbers, they are kind of werid looking symbols or something. I can post a picture later if need be. Is there a way to hard reset the esc to wipe it clean and start over?

what side is your motor mount on right or left? motor rotation? cc/ccw? that will matter.. id have motor mounted on drivers side try that gearing sounds like it also might be issue...

I should have added that for the last qualifier it came off at a fine temp, didn't use a gun for an actual number but it was barely warm to the touch, and then for the main it burned up with the exact same gearing, I'm 95% sure gearing is not the issue.

I just bought the Xerun XR8 SCT speed control and 4300kv motor to run in 4x4 SC. I also bought the program box. Initially I could not figure out how to connect the program box to the ESC. I tried to plug the ESC output (that usually goes in the receiver) directly into the program box but this did not work despite me trying several different things.

After some frustration I finally realized that you have to remove the fan power and use those pins with the jumper cable that came with the program box to connect the ESC to the program box. Then everything worked fine. I looked online and on the instructions and I did not see anywhere that it was made clear that you had to unplug the fan power to connect to the program box, so I thought I would post here in case anyone else was having the same problem.

Hi, I have a question regarding my esc/motor buy decision.

In a 8th scale buggy, 4s on racetrack. which combo will give a cooler motor?

xr8plus+ 1900kv motor
xr8plus+ 2100kv motor

assuming gearing is adjusted for same end speed.

Are the Pro and Cons why to choose this particular combo?

thanks

How do you open the can of a XERUN 1/8 scale motor to clean it? I have a 2250KV, no outer screws.
