Yes remove the 4 screws on top and unplug the unit, I think the wrench you need is a 2mm.

If you dont end up finding a rotor then try the new motor they have for SC. #3652

Just bought an XR10 Stock Spec. Is there a reason why this thing has like a turbo boost that kicks in at a certain speed? New to racing and I have a Tekin ESC on my 1/8 scale and it doesn't do this. Also, when I try and set the slipper on my 1/10 scale....the motor just starts clunking and spinning instead of holding and lifting the front end up. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The boost and turbo settings are adjustable for use in stock boosted classes.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've got it setup (with the wifi module) on the preset 17.5 settings and it's telling me boost isn't on. But then when I turn the car on, it's still doing it. Strange. Thanks for the input!

put it in zero timing mode not the OPEN 17.5 or 17.5 BL mode. If your ESC is blinking red when neutral ...then your are in zero timing (no boost)

To add to the suggestion to use the no timing preset, boost and turbo are two different settings. Did you check turbo was disabled too?

default 17.5 meaning it still have both timing and turbo timing, if you want absolutely none of those choose blinky.

Thanks for all of those replies. The ESC came set from the box in zero timing and that turbo or boost seemed like it was even worse when I pulled it right out of the box. That's why I switched it to 17.5 mode, hoping it would get better. Do you guys race with that boost/mode on? Seems like it would surprise you and kick in when you wouldn't want it to. I would think you'd rather just have smooth throttle control? I'll hook the wifi module back up this afternoon and see if I can get it out of there. Thanks again, guys!

It sounds like a sensor issue. I had the same exact symptoms with a brand new Trinity monster 17.5. After changing out the sensor wire and double checking it was seated properly the problem still persisted. I swapped out the motor and the problem went away.

I do not have a sensor wire hooked up. Could that be the problem? The motor I'm running with the car is Orions new vortex ultimate stock 17.5

I think your problem will go away once the sensor wire is connected

I got this from Orions Page on the manual for the motor....

So maybe it does need a sensor hooked up.
