v3.1 and v4 escs ?? If you mean xerun XR10 pro then...

The XR10 has a higher continuous/peak current, switchable BEC output and new esc software, tuning options..

It just plugs into the esc and you program from there? I am totally a newb. When I raced cars almost 28 yrs ago nothing was programmable

They can both do the same thing, it's just the wifi module requires a smartphone and the program box is all-in-one. And both plug into the ESC.

I know this thread is for 1/8 and 1/10 offroad, but I have one of the new XR10 speedos for 1s. I have spent the last 2 hours trying to setup the speed controller with my controller and have not been successful to get past the first step. I am really frustrated with this and need some help.

Yes, that's correct. I am not new to calibrating speed controls, but this one has got to be the worst one so far.

Can I unplug the remote switch that's plugged into my xr10 stock speedcontrol and just use the one on the speedcontrol itself?? Or does it need to be plugged in?

So I finally got the speed controller to work and was able to set it up. I ended up having to flip the plug a 180 degrees that goes into the receiver. It's a bit embarrassing and extremely frustrating since nowhere on the speed controller it shows what side the negative is on. I assumed it had reverse polarity since there wasn't any labels on it. Apparently not.....lesson learned.

just wanted to report that the xr8 sct pros have been working well here.

One thing that may be common knowledge but I figured I'd post my experience was that the ESC reminds me of the Viper VTX8s in that it doesnt' like a high cutoff setting. I noticed best performance from a variety of lipos that work fine on other ESCs by not going higher than 3.2V per cell on 4x4 SCT. No issues with the lipos after the runs, nice and cool, just a higher cutoff trips the protection easier, which to be honest, I prefer.

Outside of that they ran great. Fans on the ESCs could be a bit more durable, not sure if its the ones I got the ESC packages included 2 fans?
