You do know that you plug the program card into the fan port and not into the receiver wire from the speedo?

If you have the Multifunction Program Box it's very easy..

1. Connect the ESC to the JuStock (use the wire that runs to the receiver).
2. Power up the RC. The box should turn on, state the version, and eventually go to the programmable options.
3. Push the "Return/Item" button until you get to "max brake force."
4. Push the value button to select a higher value.
5. Push the okay button (esc should state that that the changes have been made)
6. Power down the RC.
7. Hook the wire you plugged into the box back up to your receiver and enjoy.

You can also adjust your drag brake via this method. Just select a lower value from the "Drag Brake Force" setting.

Here is your manual:
http://www.hobbywing.com/products/en...RunXR8Plus.pdf

And here are what the "LED indicators" signify:

-1. During the Start-up Process
1) The RED LED keeps flashing rapidly indicating the ESC doesn’t detect any throttle signal or the neutral throttle value stored on your ESC may be different from the current value
stored on the transmitter.
2) The GREEN LED flashes “N” times indicating the number of LiPo cells you have connected to the ESC.

-2. In Operation
1) RED & GREEN LEDs die out when the throttle trigger is in the throttle neutral zone.
2) The RED LED turns on solid when your vehicle runs forward. The GREEN LED will also come on when pulling the throttle trigger to the full (100%) throttle endpoint.
3) The RED LED turns on solid when you brake your vehicle, the GREEN LED will also come on when pushing the throttle trigger to the full brake endpoint and setting the “brake
amount/maximum brake force” to 100%.
4) The RED LED turns on solid when you reverse your vehicle.

-3. Some Protection is Activated
1) The RED LED flashes a short, single flash that repeats (☆, ☆, ☆) indicating the low voltage cutoff protection is activated.
2) The GREEN LED flashes a short, single flash that repeats (☆, ☆, ☆) indicating the ESC thermal protection is activated.
3) The GREEN LED flashes a short, double flash that repeats (☆☆, ☆☆, ☆☆) indicating the motor thermal protection is activated.
4) The RED & GREEN LEDs flash a short, single flash that repeats (☆, ☆, ☆) at the same time indicating

Thank yiu for the quick response.

I also need to know what should be the latest version software running on the multifunction LCD program box?

I'll tell you what I have it set at, but can't really comment on the effectiveness as a tuning aid. I run on carpet, so high bite, and have increased them up around the 20-25 mark (if I remember correctly). My switchover is at 50% also, so no magic there.

I really think that this setting would benefit an individual, if they were switching tracks and levels of bite, but as I said, I stick basically to one consistent surface.

Lower the level down to eliminate wheels spin on a loose surface, raise it up to get more punch when track conditions allow.

Anyone shed some light on the differences in feel of their esc's. Personally, I love them. But, my justock had thre smoothest brakes, but sometimes not quite enough.

My V3.1 stockspec had the strongest brakes. Epa is currently turned down to 40 percent. I love this esc.

V3.1 120 amp is middle of the road. Great too.

In any event, anyone else here notice the difference in the three?

Btw - I'm going to test out a Tekin rsx I have laying around. Anyone have any balanced opinion on what one should expect regarding differences in feel?

Running Hobbywing V3.1 ESCs and just bought a new 3-1 Hobbywing programming box and after going to their website for updated software...ETC.

I see a huge list of software choices and I'm confused as to which update is designed for the 120a V3.1 ESC. I run 17.5 Touring Car and want the latest software that will work with my V3.1.

Thanks in advance.

I have the SCT Pro, XR8 Plus and the Stock Spec v3.1 ECS's (all new). I do have the program card but not sure what D/L I need from the HW site in order to check them all out. I know with the Castle Crap theres only one D/L. Is there one I need for these or more then one?
Thanks.
