Got a question,friend of mine just got his 2nd SCT pro and neither will work in sensored mode.they worked at first and after a few seconds you have to spin the motor by hand then it works.motor is a hobbywing 2250.all are brand new and he has tried it with a known good motor and same thing.unplug the sensor wire and it works.is it possible to get 2 bad ESC?

Hi all,

I just bought a Hobbywing XERUN 120A V3.1 ESC Waterproof Edition.

Due to the way this ESC is manufactured, the sensor lead cannot be removed from the ESC and is approx 100mm long. For long reach applications a sensor lead extender must be used. So i thought the sensor lead extender would be included in the box of the ESC. But nope, there is nothing inside to extend the sensor cable. Just two normal sensor cables with female/female connectors. I don't understand why they added those two cables because they are useless on this waterproof version.
The non removable sensor cable is to short to reach the motor inside my xb4. A male/female(connector) sensor cable would be usefull for this ESC.

I tried to search for a sensor lead extender "option part". But i can't find anything usefull.

Anybody else got this same problem?

I happen to be the idiot that Dave is referring to. I am a dealer for Hobbywing products and have sold several with not many issues. The issues happen when I try it. Two, back to back SCT pro ESC's and no luck.

Where's my nitro engine at ?

Can anybody tell me if there is any benefit to the sct esc if I already own the 150amp. I'm getting a 4x4 sct and will use a 4 pole motor if that makes a difference

I know the larger 150a Xerun has issues with 2s battery setups, or at least it used to. Not sure if that's changed.

Otherwise there's no other reason than size/weight to switch to the sct-pro.

When you run sensored you need to go ABC to ABC on esc to motor.

We've already tried everything,the ESC are just bad.tried the motor with my 150a hobbywing and it works fine.even in sensor less the SCT pro doesn't work right it has very little power about like running a cheap Walmart car.odd that 2 were the same way.sent the RMA request see what happens.

The SCT Pro is what works with 4 poles.

Yes the battery is fully charged,2 different ones.

Hello RC Tech Community,

I've been reading for awhile and finally purchased 2 hobbywing xerun 150 1800 kv combos. Being a newbie, I did not get my wires strapped down properly and the spur gear cut one of my wires from the ESC to the motor.

One of the experienced guys at the track soldered it back together and it worked like new for 3 sets of batteries. Last night I went to change batteries (after letting it cool down) and i noticed the motor was not working and getting hot very quickly. It is getting hot without running when throttle is applied. Sometimes it runs for a few seconds fine and then it will stop and get hot.

Could this be caused by the soldered connection?
