Thanks bud. I am just getting a feel for the system. Seems pretty straight forward.

I have re-set multiple times neutral, full throttle, full brake according to the set-up instructions and the lights on the ESC blink with each setting properly.
How's the radio calibration. I just ran into this with my Futaba. I didn't even no that we could calibrate just the radio itself .

I believe there is a difference.

The way power comes on is different between the 2.1 and 3.1 and so are the brakes.

Just installed my 3.1 last week and I was 1 second faster right out of the box.

The brakes on the 3.1 took some getting used to and I am still undecided if if the 2.1 was better on braking
By the end of Friday night I was plenty comfortable with the brakes on my new 3.1 and laying down faster more consistent times than I had been with my old setup.

Is it a wow type of difference? Not at All. I had to look at the score screen to see. I was able to qualify in front of a few guys I have been chasing for months.

Is it worth $100 more? That Depends I sure did feel good walking out Friday Night knowing I out qualified those guys

Ran my sct-pro/ 4700 setups in my scte 2.0 and 1/8 buggy for the first time over the weekend. WOW i was really impressed with how smooth they where. I was way out front in my first heats and had battery go dead in both races. After some program changes won both my second heats. Tq'ed sc and 4th in buggy, won sc main and 3rd in buggy main. Very happy with switching for the junk tekin stuff.

The fan should be running all the time, it is only shut-off with the power switch. Do you by chance have the 105 degree temperature shut-down enabled for the ESC? If so is it shutting down the entire ESC as designed, or are you saying that only the fan quits part way through the run?

Obvious things to try are new fan, but honestly, you should not need a fan with this ESC even runing on carpet in a 2wd buggy. I think you might have a couple blown FETS which are causing this high ESC temps, or you are entirely geared wrong.

Yes, the fan shuts off at some point during the run. When we get back on the bench the fan is off. If we shut the esc off and right back on the fan will restart.
The gearing is 18/82.

I resent the radio and unfortunately it did not solve my problem. Thank you for the suggestion.

That doesn't sound out of the ordinary for 2wd buggy gearing, but what concerns me is that you said the temp of the ESC is 105 Celsius. That is traditionally higher than you would want to run, and shouldn't be getting that high even without a fan on (unless you are running in ambient temps of 30 celsius.

Do you have the ESC overtemp set at 105 by any chance?

Have you ever reversed the battery polarity by accident, blowing the little diode that is in the capacitor pack? I did this and replaced the capacitor pack, but the ESC seemed to run a much higher temp after that, so obviously it also effected the FETS in the ESc also.

Default 2wd Modified Buggy Setup

I wanted to post my current 2wd Mod Buggy ESC Settings as I have had a lot of messages on setups again lately and want to help. I will be posting more as I have time to do so. The setup sheet I am posting is actually screen shots directly from the software on the PC and offers explanation of why I make the changes that I do to help others with why they should make these changes and when they should make these changes.

I hope this helps and feel free to message me with questions.

I personally do not run boost or turbo for mod classes. I dont like the way the power band feels. For me when I have the right turn motor for the application gearing and endbell timing is all I need for smooth power. Now if I needed to run a 10.5 or greater turn motor i may start adding some if needed if not a spec class.
