With issues like this I will usually start pulling things apart to find the problem, but I didn't want to go and cut their heat shrink off to inspect the solder joints...I figured if I did that and that didn't turn out to be the problem, I might be without any warranty at all.

Anyway, I got an RMA from HobbyPartz where I bought it and it's going back to them today.
Thats a win, win if you get a new one under warranty. I hope it all works out.

Cheers

Need help with a 120a V2.1 esc, after calibration it goes full throttle and doesn't respond to transmitter inputs with a DX3r radio. I saw someone else had similar problems and fixed it by increasing the dead band to 12% but that had no change for me. I started to think it was just a bad esc but I plugged it into a Futaba radio and it worked perfectly. Tried turning the EPA up and down on the throttle with no luck. I need some more ideas.

I'm in the middle of testing mine at the moment. But with a 6.5 I would try it on no boost and no Turbo first. Set up your neutral percent and brakes etc. Then try that. Let me know what u think and I can give some suggestions from there.

I use a xerun 60amp with a 8.5 in my 2wd buggy. What are you trying to do with the buggy? More speed? More accel? Lemme know and I will try to help ya the best I can.

i need to just figure how each setting effects the motor... how to adjust the settings to make them best for off road? i would like a bit more speed but also the ability to clear triples...lol

I highly recommend updating the hobbywing pc program to the 3.1 version. Angelo posted the link on the hobbywing thread in the on road section. It has a nice explanation what each does right on the right side of the page when updating.

I run the 930 stock filmware on a 60amp esc. 13.5 motor. Geared 22/88, 35 degree boost, if you need more top end use a few degree of turbo. Start boost at 3000 rpm

With a 13.5 I would probably start with 20degrees boost timing starting at about 8000k rpm. I ushualy dont recomend turbo for offroad as it can upset the car when it kicks in. The boost timing is dynamic so it ramps up with throttle speed so its nice and smooth but still get you your speed.
Try those settings and temp it after 5 min and see where its at.

Have you upgraded the filmware? If your using the led (ezrun) program box the numbers don't match up with the led box. That will just confuse you. Also you need the lcd program box to hook up to the computer.

I have been running the SCT pro esc and a Tekin SC4x 4.5T for a few months now, racing. I experience similar issues as others with the delay of full throttle, which I have just gotten used to, as I have tried everything to eliminate it.

Is this motor compatible with my esc? It seems incredibly slow, in fact, one of the slowest trucks on the track on a straight. I have this setup installed in a SCTE, using Turnigy 5.8 2S, with a 14 pinion, temps get upwards of 170, esc will never go above 105.

From what understand, this motor should really scream.

Your problem is the Tekin! Lol

I don't have any delay with mine but I'm using a hobbywing 4000kv motor. I also don't use any drag brake.
