Looked through all the parameters on the program card and couldn't find anything to make any adjustments.

Is something wrong with the ESC, or is there something I'm overlooking? Or, is it just supposed to be this way. The fan is loud and I'd rather not have it running all the time.

Also, would it be safe to run without the fan, do you think, and if so, down to what turn motor?

Thanks.
i run my v3.1 in my 22 buggy with a 7.5t motor and no fan, but my 4wd has a v3.1 as well and the fan is always running when the car is on... so you shouldn't need it for your 2wd buggy!

Thanks for the replies, guys, but just to be clear: I'm talking about a 3.1 Stock Spec. I also have a regular 3.1 in my 4wd and the fan does not come on until the ESC gets hot and calls for it. The stock spec fan comes on as soon as you power it up.

I believe the v3.1 fans should be running all the time. They do not have a temperature sensing function to turn the fan on/off. Are you sure your 120a v3.1 fan is working at all?

+1, I have the v3.1 stock in my 22 buggy and no fan needed! But my v3.1 fan always runs once turned on

Wow. My mistake. Seems like the fan in my 4wd (the 120a 3.1) was broken and that's why it wasn't running. Swapped the stock spec fan in and lo and behold - it runs all the time. Which is a great testament to the HW esc's since I have been running the 4wd buggy hard and it's not overheating even with no working fan.

So next question: Does anyone have a part # for a replacement fan so I can have a spare on hand in case it dies on me again?

Can I get away with running a single cap, tekin style is 330 uf 16v. Speedo is zerun 2.1 in a dex 410 running in 17.5 blinky, just trying to save space as not much room, currently running 4 cap board.
