Did you check the a b c connections? Can you snap a picture of the motor connections?

What if you unplug the sensor wire

Totally agree, I went thru this process awhile back and didn't like the answers that I received even though they worked it just didn't make sense. My first experiment was what Wildcat said which was to turn on the radio that way the esc would see a neutral signal, of course you should have your radio/esc calibrated first. This trick didn't work all the time but it did some of the time. The other trick that I found is if you turn on the esc and hit the ok button on the program card before the esc blinks green for your lvc sometimes it'll connect. Neither of these procedures require unplugging at the receiver.

Default new problem with xerun sct pro 120a esc

Have the program box figured out but now having trouble with major cogging. Did have bullits for motor connection but soldered direct to motor, no difference, changed to a sensor wire that is known to be good, no difference. Here is my setup, hw xerun sct pro 120a with novak ballistic 13.5, Vicious tech 50c 6500mah 2s lipo spectrum dx3c with sr3100. 86 spur, 27 pinion. Any ideas.

The reason you sometimes have to unplug your receiver wire is because your throttle on your radio is floating. If you have a DX3R you can monitor this on the radio itself to see, and you can recalibrate your endpoints.

Post your ESC settings, and you could try a different motor to.

1. Are any lights flashing when it is cogging really bad?
2. Reduce the AMTS Timing to 0, also how much timing do you have on the actual motor. Turn the Novak motor down to 25 or 30 Degrees with 0 in the esc and see if that makes a difference, sometimes too much timing can cause cogging at startup.
3. Change your Lipo Cell count from Autodetect to 2s (Will not cause cogging but sometimes it can seem like cogging when you hit the cutoff.)
4. Ensure you have a fully charged battery for testing

Good Luck.

Most of time steady red, sometimes flashes green for a second. Hesitates on quick starts, coggs quite often trying to creep along. Also now reverse does not work more often than it does. I am feeling like I have a dud here. Made the changes you recomended and all it did was make it slower, did not fix problems. Thanks for your help though.

Have you tried a different motor to confirm that it is the esc?
