I have ran this motor in this class before. I did a lot of running with the original hobbywing motors, v10 motors, tekin redline gen2, and reedy mach2. I can tell you right off the bat, the original hw motors are not in the same class of smoothness and power as these other, high end competition motors .

The v10s produce much more power and run about 5-7 degrees hotter than a same turn reedy motor, similar smoothness. Compared to tekin the smoothness and high end are about the same, but the low end is a bit punchier on the hobbywing. Hobbywings actually run a tad cooler than the tekin, possibly because of the greater airflow.

Hopefully this helps.

The higher the punch # the more punch you get. The lower the # the less wheel spin.

I think there are 2 settings for drag brake, the first is the drag brake setting then there is initial brake make sure you set both to 0.

I've been running the 8.5t v10 in my scx-60 for 4 months now. Before that I had a viper 8.5 turn vst. The viper motor died after two months of use in a truck that was properly geared (20/81) Don't be fooled by the viper one year warranty as after I sent my motor to viper they claimed it was damaged to my mis use. I run hobbywing in every thing else I own so I decided to give the new v10 motors a shot. The motor runs much cooler than the viper and is still going strong. The machining is much better. The entire motor fits together very well, no shims needed. I've been happy with it so far.

Default Stock Spec Set Up for 7.5 SCT

Looking to see if anyone has suggestions on above set up. I am currently running blinky. Fairly long straight but I have to baby all the power or get wheel spin or wheelie. Run at the front of Pro2 class so need input from you fast guys. Thanks.

Just a follow up to this. HW had 6 day turn around on my ESC from the time they received it. Being out of warranty a invoice came with the damage report. I paid the invoice and with in a couple hours i have a tracking number. So im must say im very impressed with the service turn around time. Also thier customer service was outstanding. Every email i sent was answered with in 24hrs, even if it sounded like impatient rhetorical questions or just a simple follow up question to make sure i was understanding the process. TY Hobbywing for having great products at resonable prices and having a outstanding CS team and RMA team. Thanks, Dave L.

Great to see a support thread for Hobbywing!

Would the Hobbywing Justock Club Spec 45A ESC handle this motor for 13.5T superstock ST?:

Yes, the Justock will power that motor no problem. I'm currently running a SchuurSpeed 13.5 in my SCT. The Justock can handle easily down to a 10.5 in truck and even a 8.5 in a 2wd buggy. IMO its the best blinky only ESC going..

Default Justock a great value!

I invested in my first Justock ESC this week. (I also have 2 Tekin RS). Installed it and ran a 13.5 in ST with no problems. Setup and install was super easy. The brakes are not as strong as I am used to, but i'll try a few tweaks to see if I can get a little more out of them. Otherwise, I am totally happy with the purchase.
