Trying to setup my SCT Pro for the first time. When I hook it up to the Programming Box it will not go past "connecting ESC" screen. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

What motor? Try and disconnect the sensor wire.

Plugged in fan port? Not sure I follow you there? ESC powers on and runs fine, just can't seem to get the program box to connect to the ESC. Program box seems to work fine on other ESC units. It is the LCD box.

Have to connect through the fan port, where the fan plugs into the ESC or else it wont program.

Ahhhh, I had no idea. I was trying to do it through the wire that connects to the Rx like I've done on my 90A and Just Stock. This worked great though! Thanks for the help guys!!

Default XERUN 120a V2.1

When are these coming off B/O everywhere I check they are out of stock. I won't order from overseas ever. Can anyone help need 2 and 2 fans plus 2 LCD program cards. Would prefer black but Blue will work unless there is a difference. Also do you need an external BEC my servos run at 6.0v x 3.0 amp.
Thanks,
Mike

Yes, a very Happy Easter to you all
(my first post)

and I have a question

Using HW SC8WP 120a esc and HW 4700kv 4pole in Savage xs
esc is constantly cutting out or reducing power
Is the amp draw of this motor, in this heavy truck with limited gearing options, too high (in another context I would just gear down)

Using 24T pinion (the smallest I can) and smallest gearbox options
only turn and burn in the receiver, with a hitorque mg Savox or Hitec

So my real question is do I need to drop down to the 3400kv (less amp draw) and is anyone else having trouble making the most of this combo

Isnt that setup more for 1/10scale shortcourse and the like, where as a savage is 1/8 scale so you would need the 1/8 scale motors which are physically bigger i believe and not sur if that ESC would handle the 1/8 scale motors, this is just my guess, I am new to the electric side of this but I just bought that setup for a shortcourse 4wd 1/10 scale.

Sike00 thanks for sharing your experience

actually there are different HPI Savage RC's,
this setup is in the Savage xs as stated in the post, (not in the much much bigger Savage 1/8 that you refer to)
the xs is a heavy machine, rather strange because it's 1/12 or so in size but handles like
a 1/8, motor space is restricted to 56 millimeters lengthwise hence the use of the HW 3656 motor
but I'm having a lot of trouble with the 4700kv hooked up with the SC8 esc,

so I'd be interested to know how it works out in your SCT, as it seems the 4700kv has a pretty hefty amp draw. So what batt are you using, what gearing and what kind of run times are you getting,

anyway a BIG thanks to the HW techs for this amazing thread...
