Spec looks nearly identical for the ESCs on the Hobbywing site:

120A V3.1
120A/760A burst
2S= 3750Kv or greater for suitable motor

Sct Pro
120A/760A burst
2S= 6000Kv or less for suitable motor

BECs are both 6v/3A

I though main difference is 120A V3.1 has many more programming options, and is smaller in size.

I was planning on using using 120V3 ESC on 2S w/ 3750KV motor.
Will this not work correctly?
The problem is that the V3 models run in sensored mode all the time and because of motor noise at high RPM, the speed control can have issues holding full throttle down the straights. The manufacturer recommends not running 4 pole motors for that reason.
Hobbywing wants you to have the best experience possible with our items and recommends the SCTPRO for 4 pole motors.

/\ Thanks guys for the explanation! That actually does help out alot.

Follow up: Do you see this being a longer term item to work on (ie new hardware) or something that new software could correct in the future?

I see, thanks for the info!

Seeing as my 3750KV motor is 2 pole, then it is no problem using with 120A V3?

Thanks!

Start with none, then increase as you see fit, while still measuring temps of motor and esc.
Thank you. What is slop rate. What does that do? And how does it work?

Slope rate how quick-aggressive the timing ramps in over RPM increase.

I think this is something they are going to just leave the way it is for now. If they did not have a unit to run the 4 pole so well already I'm sure they would come out with a solution.

thanks Pete
now how does that work. on boost the higher the degrees number is safe from 25 to 35 degree the 35 number would be more power.. and on slope the higher the number on slope the quicker the power will be applied is that correct. then on switch point if you go from 30 too let's say 10 that should give you less tires spin on your initial throttle input is that correct thanks for your help

SCT Pro is most common, fits well. up to 4S. !50A for 6S but its quite big.

What motor? if its 4 pole SCT Pro only. I cant picture one on 6S fast enough on 4. And U have PM.

Hey giys i hope you can help here. I have a XeRun esc that I'm using for crawling, and it started acting up today about an hour into a trail.

While stopped, not touching any inputs, the truck started wanting to creep backwards. I thought it a fluke lightly touched the throttle and it seemed to stop. Seconds later the truck started creeping backwards again.

I eventually tried moving my throttle trims forward. Still creeps in reverse.

This was very strange and has never happened before. No significant crashes, no water in site.

Any idea what happened? Is my ESC bad?

Thanks for any input
