Anyone lowered the throttle epa? Any issues?
I wouldn't try it, last time i did it i didn't like the way the powerband was...i had the 4700kv indoors and it was WAAAAAAY to much and why I didn't like it
try changing your gearing or something else

running a 14t with the stock spur now. Would going to a 12t lower the amp draw on the system?

U could try 13, 12, or 11 but wheel spin would be the next issue cuz that to will create heat

Yeah I have the same deal. If you turn off your radio and then hit the button it will turn off. The ESC has loss of signal protection. I think thats the intended sequence of operations for this ESC.. or.. just unplug the battery..

meh, I guess, I will just keep my finger out of the trigger. the motor is stupid fast, I dont see why people want 4700 and 5k + motors. I run on an 8th scale track, some others have a track 2x the size of mine.

good suggestions!!... turn boost down in addition to punch that draws amps too and heats the motor. gear it down a tooth and see if you like it..

also, i have turned down my end points in the past with no issues

lol. liking mine for sure (4000Kv). Have you tried maybe a different software on the ESC? Maybe that could mellow things out?

Anyone figure out the the fix for the SCT Pro ESC when running the Tekin 4600k motor. Mine is down to 3 on the punch setting and it still stutters so bad when I hit the throttle from a stop I am causing pile ups. 4 TQ's in a row and I almost get rear ended off the line every time. Its so bad that the other racers are asking me to upgrade to a RX8. It seems to be the sudden movement from neutral that causes it. My end point is turned down to 80% and even a half pull punch will make it happen.

Happy with the ESC and the smooth feel it has if this can be fixed with software. Changing to a different motor brand is not an option for me.

have you tried a different Tekin 4600Kv motor? wondering maybe an issue with the motor, or, does the motor work fine with other ESCs?

i believe he problem is with the tekin motor... they dont do well with hobbywing ESC's which try to run sensored all the time.

I strongly urge you to try the hobbywing 4000KV 4 pole motor over getting the RX8.. you will not be disappointed!! I can almost guarantee it!!
btw, i had the pro4 4000KV motor before switching to hobbywing so I have used both motors; In my opinion the hobbywing motor is better... no kidding!! I prefer the 400KV motor over the 4700KV motor even on larger tracks.

My racing buddy and I are going to try and swap out Tekin motors to see if it might be the sensor board on mine.

We have a track rule no passing through the first corner so when my truck does not move everyone has to jam on the brakes and wait. They are getting pist at me.

I understand that its in Hobbywings best interest to want people to use their motor with the ESC but the Tekin Motors are very popular in this class. I post for thebigSC and wanted to try a more cost effective choice for racers and do a write up on it. Seems this could be a problem fixed with software. I am plenty fast with it and have the track record in the class currently. I just need to move from a stop quickly as possible.

Cool. Let us know how it goes.

Agreed with others assessment, the HW 4000Kv motor is a beast in comparison to the Tekin Pro4 4600kv. And I think its a bit better than the Pro4 HD motor I had. This mind you is with a Speed Passion ESC, but, from what I understand the GT2.0 series was made by HW for speed passion, so kind of a cousin here

Brief background:
I currently run in my 2wd stock buggy, the HW120a ESC with BLACK case : XERUN-120A-SD V2.1 (Blue): 81020171 and set for "Blinky"

I have 2 of the HW LCD programing boxes (One was formatted and programed to use with my SpeedPassion ESCs and software. ) The 2nd one is left in "Stock" form with the V1.07_110119 software.

I have a couple of questions. Can I safely update the HW Prog. box to the latest software or will it ONLY work with the newer V3 escs? What is the recommended software version I can still use with my V2.1 esc?

Now, part 2.
I just got a HW 35A esc pn#81010130 ( http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=253 )
I plan to mate it with a Fuze 3300KV motor and install it in a CupRacer drift car. I had hoped to simply hook up my LCD programmer and flash the 35A to adjust the settings, but alas, it doesn't seem to get recognized.

I seem to get the infinite "Connecting ESC" msg, (when I have the battery connected to the ESC by itself) or when I have the ESC and Programming box connected to my computer via USB, I still get Connecting ESC.

Based on the HW page (see link above), it indicates that my 35A esc IS capable of using the LCD Prog. box. Will I lose anything by updating the software? Firmware? USBLink? - (currently v3.1) I want to be able to adjust my 120A ESC as well as this one IF possible. Please Help.

MOmo

I use a LCD programing box for my V3.1, xtreme stock and a 35a ezrun esc and have no problems using it for all of them
Angelo posted something on the Hobbywing onroad thread about the box not working with a 1s battery.
