Is this normal? Or should the light really be green instead of red? Only asking because there are other typos in the book like it says the "motor" will beep during programing, I assume they mean the esc as it's the only thing that beeps when making settings changes.
Flashes red when you throttle thats normal if flashing green means over temp .

Yes there are some typos.

Happy racing

Just got this 120a combo, the motor inside is 8.5T, 4000 KV.
Is the motor suitable for heavy offroad 1/10 ep buggy ? (lots of long jumps in big track)

I notice the case has lots of venting holes as well, might invite dust and clay in my dusty track.

Is this an on road motor actually ? My other brushless motors usually use fully closed case.

That motor will work great in a buggy. Don't worry about the holes, that's for better cooling. Just blow the motor out with an air compressor during your maintenance.

Default Thermal gap filler

Can someone please provide the specs of the thermal gap filler used on the 1/8 esc. Used between fet's and heat-sink

HI Lewis thanks for the info on those gaping.

How about the KV number ? Not too high ? I'm thinking about something in 3300 KV to run cooler and higher torque for long jumps actually.

Will a sensor cable from hobbyking fit as a replacement for stock sensor cable? Just broke mine while trying to unplug it from the esc.

And is there a safe way unplug this cable ? I notice there is no space on the plug to grab on.

Also, what program box can I use with this speedo?
You will want to use the 2-1 LCD program box.

It's not uncommon for guys to be running a 6.5 in nights. I say if your new and don't have much throttle control then use a 10.5 or 13.5. I believe a 8.5 wood be pretty good through. My personal preference is I like to know I have more then enough motor. You can always turn your transmitter down if you have to much.

All sensor cables should be the same. So it should work. I know I too have pulled a wire trying to unplug it. I just wank on it and pull it out.

I have the USB Link V3.3 but it shows only the version V1.00_130509a_2R for my SCT-PRO. V1.01_130515a_2R should be available but not for me. Any ideas why not? Thanks

You've been a tremendous help and very informative, really appreciate your reply.

I'll install this 8.5T with confident.

Got a problem.

Have been running a brand new 150a/4274 combo for last few days flawlessly. Just this afternoon I took it for another run, turned it on with a fully charged 4s, and it stopped after 30 seconds. Throttle and reverse stopped responding. No smoke or smell. Servo worked fine. Turned the ESC off/on again and no beeping sound, although it did flash green 4 times as it usually does when registering the 4s.

Thoughts?

No throttle signal two issues either your battery is low which like you said is fully charged or some loose connection to your receiver rx cable .
