Looking for a charger

My trusty Turnigy 6S died last weekend so now I'm looking for something different. I run nitro so this will mostly be charging small LiFe rx packs and NiMH transmitter packs. My kids have slashes so we occasionally charge 2S LIPO's up to 5000mah.

Ideally I would like to parallel charge their batteries so I want something that can do 8 to 10 amps at 8.4 volts. I would prefer an AC charger so I have one less thing to worry about at the track. I've narrowed my choices down to the Racers Edge SureCharge 2010 (8 amps but voltage not specified), the Onyx 235 (8 amps but only 50 watts), or the iCharger 206b (a bit more expensive once you add the power supply and perhaps questionable quality - look at the junsi 1000w failure rates lately).

Any thoughts from the community?

Icharger 206b with the Junsi 350 watt power supply works a treat for me, great combo

Cheers

:D Thunder power 610 Or the 610 C ac /dc charger is what i have they are capable of 10 amp charge rclipos.com has them and with the 10% off coupon you can get it shipped for under $100.00 for the TP610 AC version or the 610-c AC/DC version @ $107.00 shipped! Also you can get a hi amprage hyperion for under $150.00 if you need more amprage and these charger brands are among the best available.

Thunder power 610, Hyperion still got some good chargers as well. Also, Team Orion Advantage series and IQ are somewhat popular.

Here's my thought. Mod the Onyx 235 so it can do 70 watts on AC power. I've been using mine like this for dozens of charges now (no hot weather yet) , but I run the max power most all the time.

Try the new protek DUO charger its cheap and powerful it can charge two lipo etc at 10amps. I like the display soft touch and easy to navigate.

I ended up getting the Racers Edge SureCharge 2010 as I needed something for this weekend after my primary plan (borrow a friend's) went south.

There aren't the usual published specs for this charger so I thought I'd report back what I've found through testing:

Charge Rate: 8.0amps (90 watts max on AC and DC)
Discharge Rate: 5.0amps (35 watts max)

This puts the charger on par with the Hyperion 720i AC/DC when running on AC charging 2s-4s lipos. The Hyperion gains a definite edge when using DC power with the 20amp charge rate. Subjectively, the Racers Edge looks much better than the Hyperion and also includes a case, squid, and a removable DC cord (the Hyperion is permanently attached). The Hyperion includes boards for the 3 major balance connectors and arguably better firmware including IR measurements.

I'm not entirely displeased with my choice considering how quickly I needed this. Here's to hoping the SureCharge 2011/2012 includes a 20amp / 150w DC mode like the Hyperion and then this would be the perfect track day charger for a nitro driver that also drives short course.
