Charging LiFe's?

Is there a standard out there when it comes to charging/breakin/running LiFe batteries.

I Picked up a turnigy 4500 life.

Ive seen some say that Low Voltage Cutoff is not necessary, but others who still use it but just at a lower cutoff than lipos...

Same with charging rates, im assuming a 4500 can be charged at 4.5 amps, others say it can be charged at 10, etc..

Just looking for clarification and trying not to ruin a battery lol.

No cutoff required

Fully charged they will be 3.6v / cell straight off the charger

They have a fairly flat discharge curve and power will drop off noticeably well before they are empty (around 2.8v / cell)

If you want to set an LVC set it at 2.6v / cell

Some believe they should not be deep discharged for the first few cycles, not a bad idea to do it if you dont need the full capacity

Manufacturer will list the charge rate for a particular pack

If in doubt do it at 1c

Even if the manufacturer suggests a 1C charge rate most will handle 2c with a good charger will no ill effects

Cheers
